Joel Galpern, CPA, is owner of the local Certified Public Accounting
firm of Joel G. Galpern, C.P.A., P.A. in North Miami, Florida.
He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting
at the University of Miami in 1969. He taught accounting at the
University of Texas at Austin while working toward
his Master's. He passed the CPA exam at the age of 22.
Joel graduated Miami Beach Senior High School in 1965 where he was
honored with the prestigous "American Legion Award", given to
the Scholar-Athlete who also exemplifies leadership and sportsmanship
among his various teammates. Joel was an "All county" baseball
player and has won three United States National Handball Championships.
Joel has been President of the North Miami Chamber of Commerce and takes
part in numerous oustside community activities.

He has been on the North Miami Business Development Board and a
member of the North Miami Mayor's Economic Task Force. Joel was on the
Governor's Council on Physical fitness and Sports. He appears frequently
in the Public Schools and speaks about the real world of business. He
has lectured for the Small Business Administration (SBA), and has
written articles in many local publications, specifically in the area of
tax savings and small business. He is a member of the Greater Miami
Estate Planning Council. Joel was voted "Businessman of the
Year" in 1986 by the North Miami Chamber of Commerce, and hosted
the cable TV talk show "Minding Your own Business" for four
years on various business topics.
Joel's publication "Business Basics-A guide for business in the
'90s, a 14 hour audio cassete program about the real world of business
is a must for everyone in business.
Joel
has been recognized as an expert in the Circuit Court of Broward County,
